IMAGINE BATH

TYPOLOGY< Public, Educational

STATUS<[2015] Competition

LOCATION> Bath, Great Britain

In Royal Victoria Park, by Royal Avenue, we are provided with excellent opportunities for enlivening this green setting with a seasonal open cinema and auditorium. This temporary structure may additionally be used as a venue to facilitate a diverse range of cultural events, including floor space for open art exhibitions, especially during the summer months.

The wooden framework construction can be easily mounted, offering the citizens of Bath an innovative place to watch films and to encourage public participation in various events. The garden-like atmosphere, discrete lighting and overall sympathetic design will ensure the site's popularity.

There is a reception, a cafe and refreshment area, a ticket booth and seating for up to three hundred seventy-five visitors, as well as sufficient outside seating. Whenever necessary, the inside seating area may be brought down to a more uniform level in order to accommodate art exhibitions.

Beyond the aesthetic and practical benefits of this structure, it demonstrates its green credentials through the utilization of rooftop solar panels and recycled wooden panels in its framework structure.

By employing this design concept, one is afforded the opportunity to promote sustainability while at the same time raising public awareness of Bath's generous range of cultural attractions.
