House in the Forest 2020
Design concept
The House in the forest is envisaged as a new approach within the world of Shou sugi ban cladding. Conceptualized as “as a floating ball,” this round, one-room Forest house was produced for strained town inhabitants looking to resuscitate with the natural environment.
At 30 square metres only, the small home encompasses just a simple round room and bathroom. The minimal structure was key in letting the users revel in the outside green spaces in a elementary style without compromissing the warm conveniences.
Accordingly, this Home can be arranged in a short time. The prefabricated elements contain a simple module that can slot into place with LCT (Laminated cross timber) walls. The will enable this small construction to induce minimal effect upon the Natural Forest surroundings.
In ensuring the Shou-sugi ban japanese conventions, cladded in burned wooden exterior, this construction is built to withstand most climates.
The basic structure is lined in plywood and the interior room is well insulated with a minimalist interior approach. The curved glass panels are conceived as aluminium frames that can slide open to nature, and thus allowing one to view the entire forest area from the living room.
Underneath the floor, this Home is connected to electricity, water and wastewater systems which are highly self sustaining and environmental friendly.
